Board Director Vacancies
Women In Tourism are seeking two new Board Directors to join the membership organisation.
Background
Women In Tourism (WIT) was created in June 2015 by a small group of destination leaders who are all passionate about the Scottish tourism industry and recognise both the challenges and opportunities for women within the sector. The founding principles of WIT are to inspire, motivate, encourage and support women across the sector; while advocating for greater gender balance across leadership roles within industry.
While created in Scotland, the ambition is to deliver continued development and establish recognition as a global example of best practise, with the creation of international ‘Chapters’. This will result in a global framework for mentoring, inspiring and developing future female tourism leaders. WIT is an independent, not-for-profit, private sector organisation. We currently have around 110 members across Scotland.
The organisation is currently recruiting for two new Board Directors and we invite applications from interested parties.
Remuneration & Time Commitment
The Board meets four times per year, with meetings generally held at 4pm for 2 hours, primarily in Edinburgh but, will occasionally meet for longer and further afield. The position is unremunerated, but expenses can be paid on request. As a director of the company, you will exercise corporate responsibilities for the business and help drive its development both financially and in strength of voice to benefit our members and the industry.
