Women in Tourism St. Andrews Event Speakers: Laurie Watson

In the lead-up to our next Women in Tourism Networking Event, “Tourism Opportunities for the North East“, on Thursday 8 February 2018 at Hotel Du Vin in St. Andrews, we showcase our inspiring panel of industry speakers.

Next up is Laurie Watson, Head of Communications, St Andrews Links. 

Laurie joined St Andrews Links more than five years ago and oversees the St. Andrews Links’ PR and Marketing operation as well as stakeholder engagement, including working closely with their wide network of global partners.

Laurie’s role focuses on further enhancing the reputation and renown of the entire St. Andrews Links operation, which includes seven courses, three clubhouses and five shops, as the Home of Golf.

Prior to working for the Links, Laurie worked for the communications team at Aberdeen City Council, managing many diverse aspects of the local authority’s affairs.

Laurie has an extensive background in journalism, having occupied several senior positions within the DC Thomson family of publications, including the Press and Journal, Evening Express and The Courier.
