2024 Top 100 Women In Tourism open for nominations!

We are delighted to announce the search for the 2024 Top 100 Women In Tourism! Initially launched in 2018, this will be the third time this important, bi-annual initiative will have taken place.

Initially created as a response to the Caterer Magazine’s male-dominated Top 100, the #WITTop100 has now been established as one of the most prestigious recognitions in Scottish, and indeed global tourism.

Peer-nominated, the Top 100 recognises women working across Scotland’s tourism sector, at any stage of their career.  From those who drive innovative ideas and projects, to those just starting out in their early career and those who are just quite simply the backbone of our sector; this is an opportunity to celebrate the rich, diverse and passionate women in Scottish tourism.

Previous winners have worked across every area of the industry and the Top 100 is open to front of house staff, managers, influencers, back of house, leaders, consultants, and everyone in between!  From business owners to visitor attractions, tour operators, accommodation providers and destination specialists, we encourage you to recognise and celebrate those working alongside you for this special recognition.

Commenting on the launch, Susan Russell, Chair of Women In Tourism, said:

“Over the last six years the Top 100 Women In Tourism has grown to be one of the most celebrated awards within our industry.  Much has happened since we celebrated the 2022 cohort, and in the last two year’s our sector has worked hard to return from the ravaging impacts that the pandemic has had.  Many have changed roles or had to diversify their business, and there is still more to do in the evolving world we all operate within.

It’s important that we continue to celebrate the thousands of women working within Scottish tourism, and today’s Top 100 Women In Tourism launch is a great moment to celebrate the amazing achievements of all those working across our important sector.  Diversity and inclusion should be at the heart of any organisation’s long-term strategy and now is a moment for you to shine a light on those passionate and hard-working colleagues working alongside you.  We look forward to reading all the nominations!.’
