Women in Tourism WIT Wednesday Recap: Marc Crothall Q&A
On Wednesday 17 June the Women in Tourism team were delighted to welcome March Crothall, CEO of the Scottish Tourism Alliance, for a WIT Wednesday Industry Q&A session.
WIT Wednesday Q&A Session with Marc Crothall, Scottish Tourism Alliance
Appointed as the first CEO of the Scottish Tourism Alliance (STA), Marc Crothall has been at its helm since its inception in 2012. He is responsible for the day to day operations and leadership of the organisation which is the overarching tourism industry trade body and acknowledged as being “The lead representative voice of Scotland’s Tourism Industry.”
The STA has been doing an impressive job of keeping our industry informed on a daily basis, and this session was an opportunity to put questions to Marc on a variety of issues faced by the sector as Scotland was due to enter Phase 2 of its emergence from lockdown.
With high attendance and around 100 registrations for the session, questions were diverse, across all areas of the sector, from accommodation and attractions to tours, venues, and guides; covering business concerns around legislation, liability, employment and training, balancing the needs of communities and more.
