Women in Tourism Scotland: International Women’s Day 2019
International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action to accelerate gender parity and is a year long campaign, #BalanceforBetter, which the Women in Tourism community supports.
To celebrate International Women’s Day 2019, Women in Tourism has put together a range of reading and videos to inspire you – much of this comes from our own activity with the Women in Tourism membership, and our wider community.

We’d encourage you to take the time to read our blog, and if you haven’t already joined Women in Tourism, why not look at the benefits of joining, or talk to someone who is already a member. You can also chat to any of the WIT board, or tweet or email us if you have questions.
Our next WIT event is scheduled for Wednesday 24th April – more news coming shortly.
On International Womens’ Day 2019, we also take the opportunity to thank all of the amazing women in our membership, our board, the WIT Top 100 and way beyond, those who continue to inspire us, mentor us and help us develop our lives and careers; those who continue to serve as fantastic role models for the younger generation wishing to develop careers in our industry.
